The Weight of Pain

The Weight of Pain

Pain destroys me within,

Leaves nothing but scars and bruises in.

Maybe these scars and bruises are not meant to fade,

Instead, they cut to the core, where the truth is laid.

Oh, pain — what a simple and tiny word,

Yet, its weight of heaviness never to be seen, felt, and heard.

Oh, pain — how simple it seems, just a word on the air,

But its presence lingers, a constant feeling of despair.
