I show the face that others see,
The one they like, it's not quite me.
I smile, I laugh, I play along,
But sometimes it just feels… wrong.
There’s more to me than what I show,
A deeper self you’ll never know.
She lives in silence, far from sight,
Where day feels dark and dark feels right.
I've just built up walls- so strong and high,
So no one sees the tears I cry.
You could try to climb it, once or ten,
But you’d slide back down each time again.
If you look close, if you look deep,
You’ll see the same heart I keep.
I haven’t changed, I won’t pretend,
I just built a wall, not to offend.
Still, I’m here, not lost, not gone,
Just watching the world, holding on.
The face you see, the one I show,
Is half the truth; the rest, you’ll never know.
